When you think of Pakistani fashion you might think of heavily embroidered joras. You would think of lawns, and then you notice TV commercials and ramps dominated by female models. Between these all if I would ask you to name a single male model I bet you won’t be able to answer. This lack of visibility has refrained many young and attractive men from venturing into a career in fashion industry.
Muhammad Siddique (Zayn Mathal), a young, emerging model from Lyari, the oldest settlement of Karachi, knew all about choosing an industry, where making a name for himself is a catch-22. But these all facts didn’t stop Zayn to dream about being a model, he always knew that he had in him to be a model.
While Zayn’s family never took his modelling seriously and thought it to be waste of time. They think that modelling is not a stable career. But Zayn has no regrets.
ADEEL WALI RAEES – ACTOR AND FILM MAKER FROM LYARI
In Pakistan, male models must jump into different other mediums rather depending on modelling. Zayn follows the same. He has played a short part in a famous Pakistani film and did some TV commercials too. He’s involved as an actor with Thespianz Performing Arts Centre – one of the leading performing art organization, devoted to the promotion of culture and arts.
Zayn is doing his bachelors in Computer Sciences from Iqra University. He is working as Youth Director at School of Stars (a school for underprivileged students to educate them through different means of art). Being a person born and brought up in Lyari, he’s very aware of the circumstances of the people living in here and desirous to change the lives of them through education.
A person having different capabilities is a gem for any society. With his capacities, Zayn is not only focused on his career but on building up the careers of many who have been neglected so far.
