SAMIULLAH MIR – FROM LYARI TO CHINA
We will take you all the way to China to meet Samiullah Mir. Samiullah is a young international award-winning photographer and motivational speaker, who received an international scholarship and went to China for his higher studies. But before this, he was working as a restaurant staff and was unable to continue his education.
Samiullah was born and raised up in a middle-class family in Lyari. He received his early education from a school in Baldia Town. He was good in studies and wanted to receive a degree in international relations from a reputed university. Unfortunately, he couldn’t continue education after his high school due to financial problems and started looking for a job.
Looking for a job in Karachi was a nightmare for him. He was denied many jobs because of being a resident of Lyari. He didn’t give up. After applying hundreds of time, he landed a job as a server at OPTP restaurant’s branch. Where he worked hard and showed everyone a positive side of Lyari whoever thought negative about him.
He always dreamt of getting higher education mostly abroad and give his nation and family a good name. During his tenure at OPTP, his cousin asked him to apply for scholarships offered by Sindh Government to get the higher education. He did accordingly but rejected many times. He didn’t take his failure to end the game but tried again and again. Finally, he succeeded in getting the scholarship for higher education in China’s Wuhan University. Where he’s doing his bachelors in International Relations.
He loved capturing photos and always wanted to learn to be a professional photographer. In China, he got the chance to bring his passion on. He became so good in photography and awarded as the best photographer in All Wuhan University photography and documentary competition. Later he participated in Sakura Blossom Festival and received a great response.
Thus, he proved that hard work never goes unrewarded. Someone must keep trying until getting what he wants. Upon completing his education, he wants to come back to Pakistan to pursue his career in International Relations. He loves to share his experience with the students and people around him. He shares the message to be Pakistani than being divided into castes and cultures.
