On average, we spend average 8 hours a day at work. That makes the most part of our day spent at office or at different workplaces. We hardly spend 4 to 5 hours with our family members or friends out of work in a day. It means we spend most of the time with colleagues, managers or bosses at work. That’s the crucial part of our life. We can make it as good as we can or as worst as it can be.
When was the last time when you cherish “I am so happy at work”? What was the reason behind it? I am sure that for most of you, it’s not usual to be happy.
Pursuing happiness is everyone’s fundamental right, isn’t it? Everyone wants to enjoy and live life in a way that makes him/her happy.
But have you ever thought that what have you done to make others happy?
It’s a fact that most of us just want to be happy and forget to make others happy. Rarely, we think about the ways to make someone else happy.
Mark Twain said, “The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up at work place”
You read it right. Cheer somebody else, try making others happy, try finding the ways to let someone feel better. This is the only way to happiness. Remember you cannot be happy until you think the same way for others what you do for yourself.

We are not going to talk about the environment of the organization you work for. We want you to bring the change yourself. So here are some key points or tips to help you out to boost happiness at workplace.
- Start your day with greeting everyone
Whether you are a morning person or not. Whether you enjoy the early start or not. Always greet your co-workers in the start of your shift. To be honest, saying Hello, Hi, Salam is just a courtesy. Which we learn from the day we enter our nurseries.
Get to know those around you even for a few seconds. You might cheer up someone by just this quick way of interacting with them.
2. Don’t hold a grudge
Let go of the past. This is an important key to be happy at workplace. In the start, you will feel this to be hard but with constant practice, you will get the hang of it.
3. Don’t waste your precious time in being jealous.
Jealousy increases stress hormones in the body. Too much of it can lead to having serious health implications. Don’t limit your universe. There is enough success for you. Be happy with the success of others and wait for your right time to come,
4. Praise the people around you
Everyone wants to be acknowledged and praised for even a small thing done in a good and appropriate way. Go to your co-worker and give them feedback about their recent work done. Praise them. Talk to them about their recent success or achievement.
Smile is contagious. The person you will smile to will make him smile as well. It tells your brain to be happier which can improve your happiness at work.
6. Leave personal problems at home
If you have any personal problem at home or with any relation, leave that at home. Thinking of that problem will make you feel that your work is never ending and can distract you from being more productive.
